Kailash Satyarthi addressed the 6th Gorbechov Nobel Peace Prize Summit in Rome on 25 November 2005. The main theme of the summit this year was "Africa Emergency".

Prime Minister of India assures BBA leaders fast action on Compulsory Education

A delegation of Bachpan Bachao Andolan(BBA) initiated National Coalition for Education(NCE) had met the Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh at his office in Parliament House on 30th August 2005. The delegation was led by senior Parliament member & NCE Chair Mr. Ravi Prakash Verma and the President of Global Campaign for Education & BBA Mr. Kailash Satyarthi.

Media Launch of the Second Children

18 August 2005, New Delhi - The Second Children’s World Congress on Child Labour and Education was officially launched around the world on 18 August. One year after the first Children’s World Congress on Child Labour in Florence, Italy, Global March Against Child Labour is organising the Second Children’s World Congress on Child Labour and Education in New Delhi from 4-8 September 2005. This congress is hosted by Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA).

On the eve of 23rd January 2005, Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) organized a world premier of the documentary “ROPES IN THEIR HANDS”…..weavers of childhood, in the India Habitat Center. The documentary endavour to unearth the morbid realities and trauma of the victims of trafficking and lift the veil off the circus industry to expose its sordid, ugly face away from the colourful facade, glamour and glitz we have witnessed till date.
