On June 25, BBA State Coordinator in Uttar Pradesh received information at 7:45
am from the BBA head office about 20 plus children being trafficked from the North East special train (02549) via Katihar in Bihar. Upon receiving the information, the BBA State Coordinator planned the rescue operation in Kanpur at 9:45 am. However, due to certain issues for which officials were engaged, the operation could not be carried out there.

However, looking at the evolving scenario, BBA State Coordinator without any delay reviewed the train route and halt timings and wrote a letter to DSP Railways of Prayagraj at 10:33 am and copied the letter to UPSCPCR for their information and to ensure quick coordination between authorities.

Further, the State Coordinator was also successful in getting a letter issued to SSP Prayagraj and within 2 hours, 33 children were rescued by GRP and Railway
Childline Prayagraj. A total of 17 adult members were detailed by GRP Prayagraj.
When CWC recorded statement of rescued children, it was proved that traffickers
were taking them for engaging in child labour. Subsequently, an FIR was registered in the evening against traffickers.
