On 31st January 2022, 6 child labourers were rescued from Jhanda Chowk Narela area in Delhi with the support of SDM Narela, Labour Department, Civil Defense, Police and BBA. The rescued children were found to be in the age group of 12-16 years. The children were working in different shops and establishments in the area including clothing shops. The children were employed from past 2 months and did not get any payments.
In the SDM order, sections under the following law has been included- Sec 3 &14 of CLPRA, 75 & 79 of JJ act, Sec 16, 17 & 18 of Bonded labour act, Sec 370 of IPC. The children were produced before the CWC and were sent to the Child Care Institution in Alipur.
