28 Child Labourers Rescued in Delhi from Multiple Establishments

On 17th December 2021, 28 child labourers were rescued by BBA from Maadipur gaon under SDM Punjabi Bagh jurisdiction in Delhi. The rescue operation was conducted in coordination with the SDM Punjabi Bagh, Labour Department, Civil Defense, Police and team of BBA. The children were working in different shops and establishments in the locality including footwear factories, plywood factory, dhaba, papad factory. The children were working on a minimum wage of Rs. 200 per week. All the rescued children were in the age group of 8-16 years and belonged to the states of UP and Bihar.

In the SDM’s order, the following sections have been included- Sec 3 &14 of CLPRA, 75 & 79 of JJ Act, 16,17 & 18 of Bonded labour act and Sec 370 & 374 of IPC.

The children have been produced before the Child Welfare Committee and have been sent to CCI (Mukti Ashram).
