BBA Tracks Down a Missing Girl in Tamil Nadu

On 1st September 2021, a 14 year old girl went missing on the same day when her school re-opened in the state of Tamil Nadu. The parents reported the missing case to the Police and the Childline, but no response was received from them.

An NGO, Miracle Foundation finally approached BBA for extending support in the case. The BBA associate in Chennai escalated the matter to the ADGP of Crime Against Women and Children and State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR). The BBA associate continued following up with the concerned stakeholders and conducted a meeting with the Superintendent of Police.

On 2nd October 2021, the local police team rescued the child and remanded three persons (one woman and two men) in the case. Further legal action has been initiated in the case and the child was produced before the CWC.
