Being Trafficked For Labour, 12 Children Rescued From Motihari Stn

12 minors who were being trafficked by train for child labour were rescued from Motihari railway station in Bihar following a joint drive by Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA), Government Railway Police, Railway Protection Force and SSB teams on Thursday.

Based on BBA’s input, the children were rescued from two trains – seven from Mithila Express and five from Purvanchal Express. They were being trafficked to west Bengal and Vijaywada to work as child labourers.

Four traffickers have also been arrested by the Railway Police.

FIR has been registered in the case. The children were produced before the Child Welfare Committee before being sent to the local Child Care Institution.
