A state-level consultation on Child Labour Abolition and Rehabilitation was organized in Assam which resulted in the state government involving our organization in strengthening child protection mechanisms in the state. The consultation saw the participation of 60 stakeholders including NGO partners and government officials. Some key officials included the Assam Labour Commissioner, Member Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (ASCPCR), Member Secretary Assam State Legal Services Authority (ASLSA), Deputy Secretary to the Government of Assam, Department of Women and Child Development, Secretary of State Institute of Panchayat & Rural Development (SIPRD), Assam, Joint Secretary, Department of School Education and the Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department.
