On 14th September 2021, a girl child was rescued from the house in Rajouri Garden area in New Delhi. The rescue operation was conducted jointly by the Tehsildar Rajouri Garden, Labour department, Police Station Kirti Nagar, and team of BBA.
For last 6 years, the child worked as a domestic labour and carried out all the household chores including cleaning, washing clothes, utensils, cooking etc. She was also often beaten by her employer.
She has been produced before the Child Welfare Committee. In the SDM order, section 3/14 of child labour act, sec 75/79 of JJ Act, sec 370/374 of IPC (trafficking) and sec 16/17 of Bonded labour Act has been included.
