Hearing a petition filed by Bachpan Bachao Andolan regarding rehabilitation of 520 trafficked children rescued from the bondage of slavery, Telangana High Court directed the state government to file a comprehensive action taken report.

Hearing the matter on July 7, 2021, Telangana High Court issued notice in the matter and directed the state government to file a comprehensive Status Report relating to the action taken on the averments made in the petition by BBA.

The High Court also directed Bachpan Bachao Andolan to place on record a mechanism of distributing the funds under the Central Sector Scheme to the children who have been rescued from various industries for their economic rehabilitation on the next date of hearing.

The children had been rescued from labour following direct intervention of Bachpan Bachao Andolan.
