On 29th July 2021, 4 child labourers were rescued from a construction site at Himayathsagar, Hyderabad in Telengana. Based on an information received by BBA team in Telangana, the rescue operation was conducted in collaboration with the local Police, DCPU of Rangareddy district, Commissionerate Cyberabad and Childline. Children aged 15-17 years were found to be working at the site along with their migrant families. A total of 150 families of migrant workers hailing from states of UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal were found to be working at the site.
Two FIRs have been registered in the case 1485/2021 & 1486/2021 against two employers at Rajendranager Police station. Both the employers have been arrested. The children have been produced before the CWC and later sent to a child care institute.
