Trafficked From Samastipur, 8 Children Rescued From Bangle Unit In Jaipur

Eight children who had been trafficked from Samastipur in Bihar were rescued from a bangle making unit in Kotwali area of Jaipur. This follows identification of the children by the Bachpan Bachao Andolan team of Rajasthan. Complaint regarding the same was given to the local police station and the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) for rescuing the children.

The children – all of whom are between 8 and 15 years of age – were rescued on August 24 following a rescue operation carried out by a joint team of the local police, AHTU and BBA. The children were being made to work in the bangle making unit for around 14-16 hours per day.

FIR has been registered in the case. The factory owner however managed to escape.

The children were produced before the Child Welfare Committee and were sent to the local Child Care Institution.
