A complaint was received by the BBA state coordinator from an NCLP school in Kamrup Metro district of Assam that a 14 year old girl is being sold to a drug addict man by her own mother. Her neighbors somehow managed to stop the mother from selling her to the man.
The girl managed to come to school and informed her teacher about the same. The teacher then informed the BBA coordinator about the incident.
On 3rd September 2021, Childline after coordinating with BBA and Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and rescued the girl. She was produced before the CWC , Kamrup Metro and was later sent to a child care institute.
An application has been submitted in the Narangi Police station, Guwahati and the investigation is still going on for further FIR registration.
