9 Children Rescued from Shops in Delhi

On 3rd February 2022, 9 children were rescued from hotels, dhabas, car repairing shops and auto parts shops. The children were rescued in a joint action by SDM of Nazafgarh, the Labour Department, Police and BBA team.

Some of the children did not get any payment for the work they were doing from past many years. Some of them got a meager amount of Rs. 5000-8000 only in last 2 years. The children were found to be in the age group of 12-16 years and belonged to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, with one  child found to be from Nepal.

In the SDM’s order, Sections 3 & 4 of CLPRA, 75 & 79 of JJ Act, 16,17 & 18 of Bonded labour Act has been included. The children have been produced before the Child Welfare Committee and were sent to Mukti Ashram for temporary rehabilitation.
