Continuous surveillance by Bachpan Bachao Andolan teams and real-time coordination between agencies concerned has helped bring back the smile on the faces of nine children who were being trafficked from Danapur in Bihar to Delhi.

BBA activists spotted three minors boarding the Jansadharan Express at Danapur. They were suspected to be around 13-14 years of age and a chat with them revealed that there were six more children in the same coach. The children revealed that they were being taken to Delhi for work. A quick check of their Aadhaar Card showed that while five of them belonged to Katihar, three were from Vaishali and one of them was a resident of Purnea district.

The information was promptly shared with the Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police by the BBA team and it was found that the parents of the children were tricked by the traffickers who were taking the children to work as domestic child labourers in Delhi. The children were rescued immediately on July 13, 2021, and an FIR was also registered. One trafficker has been arrested in the case.
