As a part of targeted drive to rescue children engaged as child labour, four children working in dhabas have been rescued from Chandigarh on August 16.
Under the leadership of SDM Chandigarh, an evening drive from 5pm to 11 pm has been started for rescuing children from child labour and other forms of exploitation. These children were rescued during the drive.
The rescue operation was carried out in coordination with the District task Force. The children were being paid Rs 4000 a month as wages.
Post rescue, the children have been produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and have been sent to the local Child Care Institution after medical check-up. A Daily Diary Report has been done in the case.
