Breaking Shackles of Child Labour

admin1

Trapped in a world of abuse and restrictions, young children are denied the safe and nurturing childhood they deserve. One such case came to light on 8 June when Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) received distressing information about Anil (name changed), a 15-year-old boy held captive and chained in a sweet shop in Bihar. Our team took swift action and filed a complaint with the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), resulting in Anil’s rescue and the detention of his employer. Sent to work to support his economically weak family, Anil fell prey to child labour, enduring gruelling hours, physical abuse, and the dehumanizing experience of being chained for three straight days. Following his rescue, Anil was moved to a Child Care Institution (CCI), while BBA ensured legal action was taken against the employers. With ongoing support and guidance, we aim to help Anil heal from his traumatic past and rebuild his life.
